Weatherboard Repairs
Repairs, replacement, painting of timber weatherboards and external woodwork
Replacement of rotten boards
Complete replacement of weatherboards
Extensive restoration and painting for very poor condition weatherboards
Repair and replacement of rotten eaves and fascia
Before
Flaking paint and rot. These boards were in need of some attention.
During
New plinth boards were installed. All paint was removed in sections to establish a solid base for new paint and see what was hiding under the surface. Rotten boards were replaced and everything was primed and filled.
After
Painted in Resene Colonial White. The gloss finish really shines.
Gaps
Large gaps were left at this transition between old and new. The boards were stripped back, replaced as needed, and scribers (see below) cut over the gaps. Finished in Dulux White on White Gloss
More Gaps
These new boards had been installed by another contractor. There were large gaps at the ends. Instead of a flexible caulking which might fail and allow moisture to enter, scribers (see below) were cut to hide the gap.
Scribers
Timber is cut to the profile of the weatherboards and covers the ends of the boards. This hides large gaps, protects the most vulnerable part of the board, increasing longevity and looks really neat.
Before
These weatherboards were flaking and tired.
During
Failed paint was removed to provide a solid base for new paint. Rotten boards were replaced and minor defects filled.
After
Fresh colour scheme with bright white and Colorbond Monument.
